LaPiat welcomes popular instagram Chef Elizabeth Hill
Elizabeth obtained her degree in Culinary Management and Business Management from Humber College in 2008. She has been a consultant chef for almost a decade, providing catering, food styling, recipe development, and menu analysis to individuals, food industry companies and restaurants in Canada, the US and the UK. Over the past few years, Elizabeth has expanded her knowledge of nutrition by receiving certifications from Cornell University for Plant-Based Nutrition and Shaw Academy for Sports and Exercise Nutrition.
She has always enjoyed cooking, and has always been interested in the effects that food has on the body, mind and spirit. She takes pride in being able to provide to her clients with healthy and delicious foods. Her food mostly follows a plant-based lifestyle, which provides a good source of healthy nutrients and also sustainable for the environment. As a professional chef and caterer, she does occasionally provide sustainable meat and dairy options upon request. Animal welfare is extremely important to her so she only uses ethically raised animal products.
Although she is trained in classic French cuisine, she enjoys a wide variety of cuisines. Her favourite cuisines are Italian, Middle Eastern, Latin American and Caribbean foods. Her love for Caribbean food grew during childhood where she spend a large amount of time in Bahamas, there she picked up a love for Bahamian flavours and culinary styles.
